Dr. Feskanich has been working with the Nurses' Health Study and the Health Professionals Follow-up Study to examine the changing nutritional needs associated with aging in men and women. In particular, she is interested in dietary effects on bone that contribute to the incidence of osteoporotic fractures. Her research encompasses other lifestyle and behavioral factors, such as physical activity, that can be modified and used as preventive measures against osteoporosis.

With experience in designing and conducting large national nutrition surveys, Dr. Feskanich is working to improve methods for the collection of dietary data. She is also examining statistical issues in using multiple measures of prospective nutritional data for characterizing associations between diet and disease.
