Research Interests Dr. Cho’s primary research interest is evaluating the role of diet and nutrition in relation to development of chronic diseases using epidemiologic approach. She has a background in food science and nutrition during her bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in Korea and has pursued both nutrition and epidemiology during her doctoral degree program at Harvard School of Public Health. She has led several projects on diet and chronic diseases including age-related macular degeneration, colorectal cancer, breast cancer, and lung cancer in several Harvard-based cohort studies. Her current research focus is evaluating the biological role of choline and betaine (nutrients involved in methyl-group metabolism) in relation to risks of several cancer sites including breast and colon.
